If you are experiencing any of the following fault codes intermittently, then it will generally be a good idea to get your Vaillant boiler looked at by a professional;

So if you intermittently experience the F27, F28, F29, F61, F62 or F75 fault codes, then it is probably worth getting your Vaillant boiler serviced over before it stops working altogether, as it probably will at some point.

Vaillant boilers we don’t generally service

We typically don’t work on Vaillant boilers older than the ecoTEC manufactured before 2005.

There are also some derivatives of the ecoTEC which we don’t work on either, these are hybrid models not true ecoTEC boilers.

Derivatives of the ecoTEC we don’t work on include any ecoTEC Sustain models, or any ecoTEC Exclusive boiler models.

We don’t generally work on models older than the ecoTEC, which include any ecoMAX models and any TURBOmax models.

Common issues with Vaillant ecoTEC boilers

Common issues with Vaillant ecoTEC boilers can vary depending on the type of boiler.

If you are experiencing any of the following issues you may want to get your boiler serviced as sometimes this can solve a lot of issues.

For Vaillant ecoTEC combination and system boilers common issues can include; boiler leaking and losing pressure, boiler leaking only when in use but not losing pressure, or boiler needing to be re pressurised every time after using central heating.

If your Vaillant boiler is losing pressure it will generally result in an F22 fault code.

Fans can sometimes fail on Vaillant ecoTEC boilers which generally results in an F32 fault code.

Pump sensors or pumps can fail, especially on early models which generally results in an F75 fault code.

Also if you are experiencing an intermittent F27 fault code, F61 fault code, or F62 fault code, then you should probably get your Vaillant boiler checked over as it will more than likely need to be repaired.

How much does it cost to service a Vaillant boiler?

In general for most boilers we work on including the Vaillant ecoTEC range, a boiler service generally costs somewhere between £80 – £140 plus parts.

The cost to service a Vaillant ecoTEC boiler is determined by how much time a service will take, and this generally depends on the type of boiler and system you have.

If your Vaillant boiler is less than five years old, then it generally needs a standard service which takes the least amount of time.

Some Vaillant ecoTEC boilers, especially the 400 Series heat-only boilers, have burner door seals(gaskets) which have a life span and need to be replaced periodically.

Generally burner door seals on boilers that need to be replaced periodically last somewhere between 3-5 years depending on use. On some boilers these may even last up to 7 years depending on use.

Graphite burner door seals on Vaillant ecoTEC combination and system boilers will generally last indefinitely if they have been installed properly.

However these seals require replacement if you clean the heat exchanger, as this requires opening the burner door which damages the gasket.
