Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 937 Combination boiler with F81, F91 fault codes no hot water

These fault codes can affect the Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 937, 938 and 940 boilers. If your boiler is displaying the F81 and F91 fault code on your Vaillant boiler it generally means that you will have no hot water.
The F81 and F91 fault codes flashing alternatively generally means that the hot water storage tanks behind your boiler have failed to get up to the desired temperature within the set period of time which is 5 minutes.
Failure to heat the hot water tanks up within the set period of time usually means that the secondary actoSTOR domestic hot water circulation pump has failed and will probably need to be replaced.
Most of the Vaillant 937 and 938 boilers that we repair with failed actoSTOR pumps, are generally somewhere between over 10 and 12 years old when they fail. In our experience these actoSTOR secondary pumps don’t generally fail on boilers under 10 years old but it’s possible.
As long as the primary circulation pump hasn’t failed and you have no other issues with your boiler, it should still provide you with central heating.
In our experience most of the time The F81 and F91 fault codes are caused by failure of the secondary hot water actoSTOR pump, however there are quite a few other things that can cause these fault codes.
One could easily spend somewhere between £500 – £1000 or more just on unnecessary on parts that don’t solve the problem.
This is why it is best to get someone who is familiar with fixing this fault on Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 937 and 938 boilers, otherwise you could end up spending a lot of money replacing unnecessary components that don’t solve the issue.
