Vaillant ecoTEC Plus boiler with F0 fault code

The F0 fault code on Vaillant ecoTEC boilers generally means that the primary flow thermistor sensor has failed, or that the printed circuit board is not getting a reading from it.
In our experience the F0 fault code on first generation Vaillant ecoTEC’s like the one shown is one of the less common faults on these boilers, but when it does happen it is generally just a faulty primary thermistor sensor.
The F0 fault code could be caused by an issue with the primary thermistor, an issue with the wiring harness or an issue with the printed circuit board(PCB) itself. We have seen printed circuit board failure cause this fault occasionally.
If your boiler is showing the F0 fault code it likely means that’s you will have no hot water and no heating, as the boiler has no means of controlling its temperature.
