This is a clip of a Vaillant ecoTEC Plus combi boiler seemingly making a lot of concerning noise.
In fact the customer that called about this issue was so concerned when they heard this noise that they turned their boiler off until we could have a look at the problem.
Vaillant ecoTEC Plus boilers often tend to make noise for various reasons, but on this occasion it wasn’t the boilers fault.
On this occasion it was actually a fault radiator valve on the bathroom radiator that was making all the noise.
Sometimes radiator valves, including thermostatic radiator valves, especially cheap ones can make noise.
On this occasion the radiator valve was chattering on its seat when the central heating flow pipe got up to temperature.
The solution to the problem was to open the radiator valve a bit more, aside from that the only other solution is to replace the valve but it was unnecessary.
